10 Disney Park Withdrawal Symptoms

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I am currently suffering with Disney Parks withdrawal. Yep it's an actual illness. Any die hard Disney fans will tell you that the Disney blues are real and boy do they hit you hard. Whilst the illness is not life threatening or dangerous it can cause many side effects such as intense cravings to get to a Disney park and when that can't be achieved you feel like you've had the magic sucked out of you. Read on to see if you are affected.

Symptoms of Disney Park Withdrawal:

1) Booking a Disney Holiday

You've got your magical planner out and you have priced up every Disney park and will head to which ever one suits your budget. You've already compared prices of hotels, Disney packages, flights and food. You've listed everything in pretty colours and decorated the price lists with Mouse heads. You've pretty much packed your suitcase already.

2) Checking the Disney Parks Apps

You're not even in a park, in fact you're sat at home in bed in your Disney Primark Pyjamas looking at the queue times. You are literally raging that Flight of Passage is only 45 minutes!!!!!

3) You have a Disney Instagram Account

The easiest way to feed your Disney Park cravings is to surround yourself with people with a common interest. You have started up a Disney instagram account and you just can't get enough. Pictures, IGTV, Reels, what more could you ask for than thousands and thousands of Disney obsessed people in the Disney community sharing your passion.

FYI - Here's a link to my Disney insta cause I've obviously got one, My Instagram

4) Finding a Magical Shopper and Buying EVERYTHING

This point follows on from point number 3. Following the Disney community means you're faced with seeing so much Disney merch and clothing. You can't get over the fact that they released that much coveted Spirit Jersey after you've left the parks and you just have to have it. That's where your magical shopper comes in. They will find it for you, pack it up and ship it over. You don't even care that the customs fee will most likely set you back more than a trip to the cinema for 2. It's worth it. You have to have all the stuff!!!

5) Wearing your Ears

You wear your ears all around your house but when the Disney blues really kick in, you wear them anywhere and everywhere. You stare at them and plan your next Disney park outfits.

6) Waffle Breakfasts are a Thing

Mickey shaped Waffles and Pancakes are now a thing for you.

7) Listening to Disney Music

It's a small world is on repeat, you're smiling, you're happy. Next up is Fantasmic and those memories make you start crying ugly tears. Take me home!

8) Watching YouTube Videos

You spend a lot of your free time watching your favourite Disney you-tubers especially the one's who are still visiting the parks. The sights, the sounds, the smells, you feel it all. It's like you're back home.

9) Getting Crafty

You have been browsing your Disney things for too long. You've come up with lots of grand ideas on how to make them look pretty and stand out. You've ordered endless things from Etsy etc. You've started scrapbooking, your pins are now organised in box frames and on flag pennants, you have an ear holder, you're making gifts. You name it, you've pinterested it and you've started it. You may not have finished it but you've made a start and that makes you feel joyful.

10) Browsing Old Photos

You've been looking at Facebook and Instagram archives. Why oh why have you reminded me of my Dole Whip? You evil social media channel. You stare at your albums endlessly and flitter between bouts of sheer joy and magic to an intense feeling of sadness.

Do you have any of these symptoms? If so I feel you. Let's all wish on a star and hope we can be back in the magic soon.

BB-8 Disneybound

On my most recent trip to Disneyland California I stepped out of my bounding comfort zone and chose a few Star Wars characters to bound as, one of them being BB-8. Galaxy's Edge is one of my favourite areas in Cali so I knew Disneybounding as some of the characters would make the trip there even more special and enjoyable.

A BB-8 Disneybound is pretty easy to do especially as there are lots of options for clothes in orange and white with spring/summer styles currently hitting the stores.

Here are the details of mine:

My amazing ears are by my awesome friend Hannah Marie Magic. If you follow me on Instagram then you'll know how much of a fan I am of her ears seeing as they are in most of my pics.
These BB-8 ones are so pretty and sparkly. Everybody was commenting on them when I was in the park.

This orange t-shirt is from Next. If you search orange sleeve interest t-shirt you'll be able to find it. The price when I was writing this was £14. It's super comfortable.

My skirt is the basic box pleat mini skater skirt from Boohoo which cost only £6.40 which I thought was an absolute bargain as I'm bound to wear it many times.

How cool is this bag?!!! It's actually a Loungefly bag which I bought from Geekcore. It was on sale for £29.99. It's a great size bag for the parks as it fit my purse, camera, phone, make up and snacks in it.
Geekcore have a huge range of Loungefly bags and they even have a BB-8 rucksack which is super cute.

Here's a list of other Disney characters in orange that you could reuse the t-shirt with:

  • Toulouse
  • Nemo
  • Tigger
  • Rajah
  • Hercules
  • Tod
  • Hank
  • Jacques
  • Marlin
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Shere Khan
  • King Louie
  • Scar
  • Oliver
  • Doc

Welcome to my new blog

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to finally launch my new Disney blog which really has been a long time coming. I've thought about it for years and I finally bit the bullet and went for it.

I am Kerry the author of the lifestyle blog (I will still be writing this) so if you've found me through that then I hope you will continue to support me on my new adventure but if you're brand new, here is everything you need to know.

I'm Kerry and I'm a Disneyholic from South Wales. My passion for all things Disney started at a young age with the first film I ever saw in the cinema being Aladdin and from that moment on I was hooked. Aladdin is my favourite Disney film with Jasmine being my favourite princess.

I am married to my husband Arwyn. Luckily he is also a huge Disney fan and he can regularly be spotted in matching t-shirts with me. We went on quite a few trips to Disneyland Paris before we had children but we've been on much more since having our girls.

We are parents to Eva and Ophelia who are both Disney obsessed. Together, we have been to Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Disneyland California. We are current annual pass holders at Disneyland Paris and Disneyland California. We have all the asian parks on our bucket list.

For our 5th wedding anniversary we renewed our wedding vows at Walt Disney World in the Polynesian hotel. It was perfect and it was amazing to have the girls there. I'll write a blog post about it at a later date.

One of my favourite things about Disney is Disney style and Disneybounding. I am quite new to Disneybounding but I've tried it a few times now and I always try and wear something new on each trip.

I'm loving the fact that high street shops and even designer brands are collaborating with Disney, bringing us street style that we have wished for.

One of my Disney obsessions is Minnie ears. If you head over to my instagram you will find me wearing them in most of my pictures. I also love to collect Disney pins and mugs.

The last thing I'm going to mention for now is runDisney. Last year I participated in my very first runDisney at Disneyland Paris and I did the 31k challenge so I had to do 10k one day and 21k the following day. What can I say, it was an incredible experience but it was tough. I had a couple of Disney friends that helped me through it. I loved the experience so much (especially the amazing medals) that I am signed up for the Disneyland Paris princess run weekend this May. Watch the blog for more details on that.

I'm looking forward to sharing all of our adventures with you. For now please head over to my socials (by clicking the links below) so you can keep up to date with everything.
